Mr Virgile Stanislas Bassa is the CEO and Founder of Mosaic International UK and leads the executive management team and the trustees’ committee. As a qualified Care Manager, he has more than 15 years work experience in social care services in the UK.
In 2014 he founded Mosaic International, registered in England and Wales on 31 March 2015, with the objective and mission statement to advance public health and alleviate suffering, promoting health globally in remote areas of Africa and other part of the world.
His decision to establish Mosaic International was based on his work experience in different sectors both in Africa and Europe including commerce, marketing, shipping and with the central government in his home country in Africa where he led a team working on policy, advocacy and government relations. This work experience has given him the opportunity to encounter the real issues that the public face in remote areas, particularly in Africa, to access a good health service. The result is sometimes premature death.
Since 2002 he has worked with various social care organisations in the UK. From 2008-2017 this included government-funded community based projects and support services in collaboration with London Borough of Hackney to provide housing-related support to vulnerable young and older people in the wider community. He advocated on their behalf with external services, agencies and hospitals, prepared their social benefits applications, and represented them at Court of appeal panels to have suspended social benefits reinstated.
His positive attitude and success for the benefit of the wider community won him Wow Awards for outstanding customer service in December 2014, October 2015, November 2015, February 2016, August 2016 and February 2017. He was also “The Wow Awards Judge’s Choice” finalist in November 2016.
He is now using his experience to lead MOSAIC INTERNATIONAL to develop and implement projects to achieve its goal.
